Most of our post are about, let´s face it…trendy hipster blog shit subjects……it´s not wrong to talk about art, music, parties and new shit…but just to change a bit, I want to write about a whole other “thing” on the web: social concerns.
It´s a whole subject and there are lots of pages, there´s even a category of “social aspects” on every “web-awards” around. But the last I knew about is Kiva.
Kiva.org is a Loan-administrator plataform…the goal is to let investors select “local entrepreneurs” that have knowladge and experience with social projects, and let those entrepreneurs work that money.
So, it´s pretty simple, if you have money and want to help make “a better world”…stop thinking about going to a community and put some money on the people who already know how to help, the deal is that you´ll get your money back, and you´ll start a social-concerned project of your selection.
So far they´ve raised $42,242,485 dlls which have helped start 83,294 entrepreneur´s projects.
With a 98% Repayment Rate….I think is a bloody good idea of how to make this world a little more equitable.
Blue cheers, Mau
